Upcoming Events

We run a programme of exciting and diverse events where our members can meet policy makers, discuss policy and network with other business leaders and entrepreneurs.

โ€œThe Business Network offers a great opportunity to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, executives and professionals from a wide range of industries and professions. We regularly gather to explore key business challenges and policy ideas with Lib Dem MPs, Peers, and influential speakers. With the changing landscape, the Liberal Democrats are increasingly positioned as the natural party for business.โ€

๐Ÿ“… Thursday 2nd October -  Sewage, Soaring Bills & Thames Water โ€“ Time for Change

Online via Zoom, 6.30pm to 7.30pm

Join Charlie Maynard MP for a no-nonsense discussion on the state of our water system and what we can do about it. Thames Water has racked up ยฃ19 billion in debt, dumped raw sewage into our rivers for over 300,000 hours in 2024 alone, and paid millions to bosses and shareholders, all while your bills keep rising.

Charlie has been fighting back: partnering with WASP (Windrush Against Sewage Pollution), raising the alarm in Parliament, and challenging Thames Waterโ€™s latest ยฃ3 billion debt scheme in the High Court. He believes water is a public necessity, not a corporate cash cow and itโ€™s time to stand up for our rivers, our homes, and our communities.

Josh and Charlotte will be drawing on their experiences in advocating for change, with a particular focus on Josh's Private Member's Bill, a legislative initiative that seeks to differentiate domestic violence from other crimes and hold perpetrators more accountable.
